Picnics, Wine, and a Gorgeous Fall Day....

October 4, 2014

Styling specialty picnic is one of my favorite services that we do at Mosaic Party. The Okanagan is full of gorgeous venues, parks, and secret hideaways to set-up a blanket or table and enjoy good eats, tasty treats, and the company of others.

When my dear friend, Sandy Pandher from Dreamgroup Productions mentioned she was looking for a mini vacay to wind down at the end of the busy wedding season, I was deighted to help her plan a special weekend adventure in the Okanagan.

Let me just say this.... planning for a Planner, especially of one as talented as Sandy, is a humbling experience.

To start, we got them booked into Sparkling Hill Resort...an absolute MUST for anyone visting the Okanagan!  And making sure we gave them a full morning on their first day to take in the resorts ammenities, we picked them up from the hotel in the early afternoon for adventures with local wine, amazing views, and a picnic!

Driving them into Lake Country was an easy choice; Sandy is a fan of Grey Monk Winery... and I happen to live just up the road from it. We had pre-arranged an Odyssey Tasting and made sure we timed their visit for a guided tour of the winery.

With wine on the tongue and a trunk filled with their bottled purchases, we brought them up the hill to Arrowleaf Cellars. One of my FAVORITE Okanagan spots! They have a gorgeous view, a fabulous picnic area, and opening soon... a new tasting room and bistro lounge.

We ore-arranged a courtesy bottle of wine for the ladies after their tasting and set up a special picnic to enjoy it with. And what a perfect Okanagan Fall day it was - blue skies and warm.

Some of my vintage service pieces and trusty vintage lace adorned the table, along with my most favorite picnic basket (I'm kind of a basket hoarder). Fresh fruit, a selection of cheeses, and baked goods from a local bakery were laid out for snacking. And a simple hand-crafted sign (with paper flowers, of course) that read: "We do not remember days, we remember moments"... a quote from Cesare Pavese, was placed on the table to remind everyone to enjoy the memories they were creating.

I always rememeber moments when Sandy warms my heart with her infectious energy. I feel incredibly blessed that she let me help plan some holiday fun for her and her loved ones. This opportunity is but another moment to remember fondly.
