Sometimes, an over-sized poppy is the epitome of whimsy!
This fun little shoot was the creative concept of Lise Guyot of L.G. Photography. When Lise approached me and asked if I could supply one of my large paper flowers (and requested a poppy, specifically), I was 100% on board! I had been waiting to try a tissue paper poppy concept for some time and was ultimately pleased with the crinkly, floppy result of the simple petal structure that poppies possess.
This day was a breezy one though and I will admit that tissue paper flowers are best left for indoor applications when for decorating purposes. But for a creative shoot...it was perfect!
All in all, this day was boat-loads of fun, and the weather stunning, with its puffy white clouds and blue Okanagan skies.
The wind allowed us to play up the long organza 'belt' we tied around the waist of our model, highlighting the crazy fun layers of the retro clothing that Robyn (from Perch Travelling Boutique) styled her in. And who would know that our model has such long hair?! The talented Missy Mackintosh created this chic shoulder-length bob with some seriously sneaky tricks!
Good times with some lovely creative souls!
