A Vintage Hallows Eve

October 6, 2014

Inspiration Photo Shoot - as seen in Party Style Magazine (Oct 2014)

"Villainy wears many masks, none of which so dangerous as virtue..." ~ Ichabod Crane

This eerily beautiful scene beckons the warm golden light of Fall and reminds us of an era when high fashion was introduced to the rustic world of country living. Inspired by the timeless story of Sleepy Hallow and the desire to re-create a vintage Hallows' Eve, I styled this photo shoot with the help of some amazing vendors.

String-woven overlays, knitted pieces, damask-printed fabrics, and dried moss, blanket our farm-style drop leaf table, creating a rustic bed for our painted pumpkins and antique service pieces to be displayed upon.

An old stone wall is the perfect, natural backdrop for our tablescape and vintage lanterns. Crows find their way into the shadows - haunting our beautiful day with a touch of mystery.

Our sophisticated lady of darkness reads leather-bound books, rich with timeless prose, and walks the grounds with a confident gait -  her mysterious gaze reading into the souls of those around her.

As the crows cry overhead - in a harmony of all that is spooky and raw - one almost expects to hear the approaching sound of horse shoes clopping on hard-packed earth.
