Vendor Spotlight: Cakery Arts

April 22, 2016

Last summer we joined forces with our friends over at Marry Okanagan to giveaway a $10,000 wedding to one lucky couple. Ben & Becky won our contest and just next month, we will be helping them host a gorgeous Okanagan wedding with the help of some amazing vendors. To get the celebrations underway we've interviewed some of our vendors to learn more about them. Here's today's spotlight...

What can we say about Cindy Finnigan of Cakery Arts other then I think she makes some of the tastiest cake I've ever tasted! I've sampled her cakes on a number of occasions and am always amazed with her unique flavor combinations and creativity. Cindy also happens to be a former wedding planner and we love teaming up with her because she is so knowledgeable about the wedding & events industry and incredibly passionate about her artistry.

5 - What tips would you give couples about ordering a wedding cakes?

1. Book a tasting with your cake maker so you know what you are serving to your guests.  Choose at least one fun or unexpected flavor for your guests to try!

2 Stylize your cake or cupcake table to make it a stunning, decorative addition to your wedding theme.  You can add flowers, candles,  risers, crates, different cake plates and server ware to make a cool eclectic display.

3 Make sure your cake maker is licensed and insured, especially if you are having your wedding at a venue that provides catering.  It is important for maintaining proper food safety standards so you can be sure to serve your guests goods that have been baked in a clean, commercial kitchen and that they have been stored at proper temperatures throughout the process.
